The Storyteller's Dog
Every storyteller needs an audience. This one talks back.
Dog has heard every tale the Storyteller knows, and believed roughly half of them. He listens from the hearthrug, asks the questions you were about to ask, groans at the scary parts, and demands the endings come faster. He is the audience, the critic, and the color commentary all at once.
They met, he says, in the woods: the Storyteller offered a story in trade for one of Dog's buried bones. It must have been a good one. Dog has followed him ever since, though he will remind you firmly that he is nobody's pet. He is his own boss.
- His name, he insists, is just Dog.
- He once gave an interview to Rowlf, dog to dog, in a Muppet magazine.
- Officially a creature, he was still made a member of the Organization of Muppet Dogs.
