Keeper of Secrets, older than the Gelfling, born from the rocks of Thra itself.
There is only one Aughra and there has only ever been one. The world of Thra needed eyes, the story goes, and so the rocks grew her. She has watched over the world for at least a thousand years, from an observatory where brass planets wheel around her head on great orbits of iron.
She gave an eye to the sky, lost watching the three suns meet in a Great Conjunction, and the eye she kept does not need her to hold it. When the time came to heal the Dark Crystal, it was Aughra who kept the shard, and Aughra who set Jen on his way.
- Her remaining eye can pop out of her head and look around on its own.
- She remembers Thra before the Skeksis and the Mystics were separate beings at all.
- Her observatory tracks every movement of the three suns.
