Jareth
The Goblin King: crystal balls, impossible hair, and a castle full of goblins who adore him.
Coming soon as a talking avatarJareth rules the Labyrinth and the Goblin City at its heart, attended by goblins who find him magnificent. When Sarah wished her brother away, it was Jareth who answered, and Jareth who set the thirteen-hour clock. He watched her progress the whole way, rearranging time, space, and the occasional staircase to keep things interesting.
He can become a white owl, spin dreams inside crystal spheres, and move the stars for no one. For all his menace, the film leaves a question hanging in the air: was the villain of the Labyrinth simply a king who wanted to be chosen?
- The crystal-ball juggling was real sleight of hand, performed live through the puppet costume's arms by an artist hidden behind him.
- His musical numbers include "Magic Dance" and "As the World Falls Down".
- Owl first, king second: he arrives at Sarah's window on white wings.
Soon, Jareth talks back
We are bringing Jareth to life as a living, talking avatar: the look, the voice, the attitude. This is where the conversation will happen.
